How did the pandemic reset the rules of fundraising?
In this presentation from 2021, Bluefrog’s Head of Research, Amber Nathan, along with Mark Phillips share the findings from our ongoing research into attitudes to giving amongst donors.
They show how donors are being increasingly influenced by what’s happening in the news. This is causing donors to regularly reconsider what they give and to which organisations.
Amber and Mark talk about the impact of mistrust of government and show how injustice has become a key lens that people use when considering giving decisions. They look at how donors are increasingly attracted by smaller, local charities and discuss the problems that charities working in international aid are facing.
Finally, they share their recommendations as to how charities can improve their appeals by focusing on answering donor needs.
